Many thanks to everyone for a great party this year!

Now, some kind of exciting news that I got recently.  The hotel will be opening up reservations for next year's party pretty soon...because they WANT us to be able to get the whole tower!  That's right, the hotel is hoping we will be able to get enough reservations to have every room in the tower as part of the party!  Think of it....no external guests.  No worries about others stumbling in on the party.  It'd be ALL US!

So, info about next year will be forthcoming.  But from the looks of it, it will still be the first weekend in December.  Since the 1st of December falls on a Saturday next year, the dates of the party will be:  Friday, November 30 and Saturday Dec 1.  This is of course after MFF (Nov 16-18) and after Thanksgiving.

We will be looking at a couple of slight changes that may make the party better than ever!  First,room 810 (the room on 8 with the kitchenette) will become a social lounge.  YES, a place to sit, drink, relax, eat, and chill...while food can be cooked and such.  We'll see if we can get some round tables in there.  This is of course in addition to the open bar area in the hall of the 8th floor.  So LOTS of space to socialize.  We are going to re-examine the dances.  Most people opted to socialize instead of dance....so we may reduce those...or not have them in favor of something more social.  Some suggested a poker tourney or some other game type event....so that's also being looked at.

The dinner on Saturday seemed to be a huge hit....so we're looking at how to improve that.  Also we'll be streamlining the white elephant gift exchange.  Sorry it took over an hour....it was fun, but as more people show, it needs to move quicker...so we'll work on that. :)

Now, with these types of changes, there is one other thing we'll need to do.  The party will probably have a nominal fee for attendance .  We're looking at just $10.  That should be enough to cover the rental of the 8th floor suite and food stuffs.  Of course, folks should still contribute to the bar and other snacks and such...as that is part of the charm of the event...it's all of us pulling together to make it a great party!

Anyhow....we hope eveyone had a great time.  And next year is gonna be way cool!  :D
